Job summary

Alteo Inc. is seeking a Senior DevOps based in Montreal. The role combines architecture, automation and cloud delivery in a hybrid setup with 6 days per month in the office. You will drive DevOps/SRE practices, lead cloud deployments, and guide teams across the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to design scalable, secure IT solutions and help mature the organization’s digital platform using Kubernetes, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• 7–10+ years of IT and solutions architecture experience is expected.
• Strong DevOps, SRE, cloud, and automation know-how across data, apps and infra.
• AGILE/SAFe experience and ability to lead stakeholders.
• Experience with secure, scalable, high-performance IT solutions.

Alteo is looking for a Senior DevOps for a permanent position based in Montreal.

*** Hybrid: 6 days in the office per month ***

You will be responsible for implementing and executing business solution architecture plans that address the evolving needs of existing solutions and those to be deployed, while adhering to the target architecture and IT master plan. You will also be responsible for maintaining and implementing the business solution architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the lead for the industrialization and automation of solution deployment
• Actively contribute to the feasibility, design, and implementation phases of various software development and integration projects, while adhering to industry-standard principles of solution architecture, infrastructure, and software
• Be able to establish and recommend secure, reliable, and high-performance IT solutions that meet business needs
• Promote the reuse of proven solutions to optimize the quality of services and operations
• Serve as a consultant and act as a resource person and coach for senior management and future leaders
• Actively participate in and lead solution testing, as well as the deployment of the cloud environments necessary for system delivery
• Perform quality assurance on the documentation of proposed architectural alignments as part of the implementation of the IT strategic plan
• Design technology infrastructures with a focus on functional requirements, scalability, overall performance, and security requirements
• Work closely with managed service providers to ensure the delivery of a high-performance infrastructure
• Participate in the diagnosis and resolution of complex operational issues 24/7 as needed;
• Participate in risk and cost-benefit analyses.

Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Software Engineering, or equivalent
• 7–10+ years of relevant experience in IT and solutions architecture
• Extensive and in-depth expertise across multiple technology and/or business domains, covering aspects related to data, applications, and infrastructure
• Ability to implement and champion all principles related to DevOps and SRE practices
• Possess excellent analytical and synthesis skills and the ability to make recommendations
• Demonstrate versatility, proactivity, and autonomy in the daily performance of duties
• Exercise inspiring leadership with stakeholders from various business sectors and multidisciplinary teams
• Possess knowledge of AGILE and SAFe development methods and their fundamental lifecycle principles
• Be a good listener and have a solid understanding of business challenges
• Possess expertise as a developer, integrator, and solutions operator who has contributed to the feasibility, design, implementation, and delivery phases of large-scale business solutions of comparable scope
• Infrastructure / Cloud Computing:
  • Automated deployment of robust solutions on one of the leading cloud providers (GCP, Azure, AWS)
  • Delivery of solutions on Kubernetes
  • Cloud networking expertise, including WAF, DNS, DDoS
• SDLC:
  • IaC deployment (Infrastructure as Code, Terraform)
  • Automation of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (GitHub, ArgoCD/GitOps, SonarQube, etc.)
• Software and integration:
  • Expertise in one of the API gateway services (e.g., Apigee, Traefik, API Gateway, Kong)
  • Knowledge of C#, JavaScript, and related frameworks
  • Software engineering principles and design patterns for automating delivery (distributed architecture, microservices architecture, API integration, event-driven and streaming architecture, etc.)
  • Software development methods and principles (TDD and code coverage, OWASP, peer review)
  • Operational knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, caching)
  • SaaS integration principles
• Knowledge of privacy laws, IT security rules, and guidelines (a plus)
• Knowledge of Fluentbit, Prometheus, and Grafana (a plus)
