Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years in a similar IT/Sys-DBA role.
• Experience with databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and system security.
• Strong networks, Unix server and IT infrastructure knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage system administration to ensure availability and reliability of the platform.
• Define server requirements in coordination with project teams and ensure installation/ configuration.
• Monitor performance, incidents, backups, restores and escalation as needed.
• Contribute to platform security and participate in security audits.
• Support colleagues and help improve team performance.

Alteo is seeking a Systems Administrator / DBA for a permanent position based in Montreal.

Responsibilities:

• Manage system administration to ensure the availability and reliability of the platform
• Help define technical server requirements in coordination with project teams
• Ensure the installation and configuration of systems
• Ensure system administration (e.g., backup, restore, monitoring…)
• Ensure performance monitoring, analysis, and evaluation
• Ensure the management of production incidents and their resolution or escalation
• Ensure system evolution and migration in accordance with technical recommendations and/or those of manufacturers and software vendors

Security:

• Ensure system security to guarantee the platform’s availability and reliability
• Participate in defining the platform’s security policy
• Monitor security incidents and elevate them as needed
• Participate in platform security audits

Development:

• Contribute to developing colleagues’ skills to improve collective performance
• Provide guidance, assistance, and support to colleagues

Profile:

• College diploma or high school diploma in IT or equivalent
• 5–8 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience in the electronic payments industry (a plus)
