Job summary

The Town of Stouffville is seeking a Senior Development Engineer in its Engineering & Public Works department. You will lead and oversee complex development engineering projects and master planning studies that shape growth while coordinating with council, staff, developers and external agencies.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree with PEO designation and 7+ years of relevant experience, plus strong design, permit, and reporting capabilities. Flexible working arrangements offered.

Qualifications

• Four-year Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university.
• Designation with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
• Minimum seven years’ experience as a professional engineer in design, review and inspection of subdivisions and site plans.
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and perform municipal servicing designs.
• Knowledge of subdivision agreements and planning.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and Land Manager.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service, public facilitation and conflict resolution.
• Strong organization, accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and reviews development applications such as subdivision and site plans.
• Recommends approvals for development applications.
• Prepares subdivision agreements and attends site construction meetings.
• Issues completion certificates, security reductions and assumption.
• Prepares Council reports and By-laws related to subdivisions (agreement approvals, assumption, addressing and street naming).
• Collaborates with Council, managers, developers and external agencies on infrastructure projects.
