Base pay range
CA$50,000.00/yr - CA$65,000.00/yr
The Fraser Institute has an opening for an innovative, enthusiastic Senior Development Associate who is looking for a rewarding and challenging career opportunity, with room to grow in a team of talented, results-driven professionals raising more than $12 million annually.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Research, manage and assist with stewarding prospecting lists for Foundations, Major Gifts and Event Sponsors in Salesforce for Western Canada.
- Assist with the cultivation, acquisition and retention of major gifts, making stewardship calls and follow-up calls on ‘asks.’
- Organize major gift meetings, pre- and post-meeting materials and maintain up-to-date Salesforce/donor database files.
- Ensure the office is equipped with required materials for donor meetings and stewardship events.
- Work with the Associate Director, Development and individual department heads on fundraising for specific projects/centres.
- Act as lead solicitor for assigned galas and work with the Events Team on logistics, as required.
- Prepare correspondence as directed and respond to donors in a timely manner.
- Be comfortable explaining the Institute’s mission and work to donors and prospects, as required.
- Work with appropriate colleagues to ensure accurate donation reporting.
- Maintain donor records within donor database, as assigned.
- Other Development duties, when required.
- Please note that this position requires being in the Fraser Institute office at least 3 times per week.
About you:
- You have worked in a Development or similar role. A minimum 3 years’ experience in Development – specifically grant writing, identification, cultivation, and stewardship of donors is preferred.
- You have a post-secondary degree/diploma in Fundraising, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related fields. A combination of work experience and education may be considered.
- You have professional writing and editing experience, including writing and editing business correspondence and/or grant writing experience.
- You have excellent verbal communication skills and are able to present yourself in a professional, confident demeanor.
- You are highly self-motivated and have a strong sense of personal initiative and ownership.
- You’re an ambitious go-getter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, prioritize, work to deadlines, and you are excited to learn and grow with the organization.
- Experience using Salesforce and a proven track record of meeting significant fundraising targets are considered assets.
