Job summary

CIRO in Calgary seeks a Senior Database Administrator to support performance, reliability and integrity of Finance Systems and the enterprise data ecosystem. You will manage SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases and support related integrations.

The role emphasizes cloud and hybrid infrastructure (Azure Arc, VNets), data encryption and audits, automation with PowerShell, and collaboration with Finance, Support and Development teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on SQL Server DBA experience.
• 2+ years hands-on PostgreSQL administration.
• Experience with integrations (SSIS, APIs, ETL tools).
• Security, governance and audit requirements knowledge.
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Experience with Azure technologies (Arc, VNet).
• Experience with Business Central and Power Platform beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize SQL Server and Postgres databases.
• Support Finance Systems integrations and related tools.
• Maintain encryption and secure connectivity standards.
• Support hybrid environments using Azure Arc, VNets, Gateways.
• Troubleshoot data pipelines and integration jobs.
• Execute DR/Backup/restore procedures.
• Participate in on‑call rotation with Senior DBA.
• Contribute to automation and modernization initiatives.
• Ensure readiness for audits and compliance obligations.
