Description

The City of Côte Saint-Luc is a dynamic municipality on the island of Montreal with a population of approximately 33,000. The City prides itself on providing high-quality services to its residents at a reasonable cost. We are currently hiring a Day Camp Counselor for the Recreation and Leisure Department.

Role: The senior day camp instructor is responsible for planning, leading, and participating in activities for children and young people aged 5 to 14. The counselor must follow safety procedures to ensure children's well-being during camp activities and attend training sessions to apply learned principles throughout the summer.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 35 to 40 hours per week
• June to August

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, participate in, and supervise day camp activities for groups of young people, applying department rules and presenting a positive image.
• Report to the leader or coordinator.
• Collaborate with junior leaders and encourage their active participation.
• Ensure the safety of the group and outdoor activities outside scheduled times.
• Develop safe and stimulating activities.
• Present a weekly activity plan.
• Maintain hygiene standards for children.
• Ensure inclusive participation for all children.
• Regularly meet with and inform parents.
• Attend pre-season training sessions.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

• Bilingual proficiency.
• High School Diploma – Grade V or equivalent.
