Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting database code powering financial data applications, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.
• Strong logical and analytical reasoning: ability to break down complex problems and reach evidence-based conclusions.
• Snowflake, dbt, Streams, Tasks, dynamic tables, or other modern data-platform experience.
• Structured troubleshooting skills across data pipelines and database code.
• Professional experience developing production SQL and database applications.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data modelling, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Experience with version control, code review, testing, and controlled deployments.
• Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into clear, maintainable solutions.
• Financial services, lending, payments, or other regulated-data experience.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail with sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain SQL, DDL, DML, views, stored procedures, functions, and other database components.
• Design and support staging, core, reporting, and analytical data structures.
• Build ETL/ELT processes to extract, validate, transform, reconcile, and load data.
• Translate business rules and reporting requirements into database logic.
• Implement data-quality checks, reconciliation controls, logging, and rollback procedures.
• Diagnose and resolve data, SQL, and performance issues with root-cause analysis.
• Tune queries, data models, indexes, and workloads for performance and cost efficiency.
• Apply secure development practices including least privilege and masking of sensitive data.
• Deliver changes through GitHub, PRs, testing, and controlled deployments.
• Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, QA, security, and operations.
• Contribute to database standards, documentation, and production support.
