Placements24 is seeking an experienced Database Administrator for our Kimberley office to manage and maintain critical database systems. You will ensure performance, integrity, and security, handling installation, configuration, upgrades, backup, recovery and tuning.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field and 3+ years of DBA experience with SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. A stable work environment and opportunities for professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• Proficiency with RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Strong understanding of backup, recovery, and high availability concepts.
• Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.
• Knowledge of database security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related products.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
• Implement and manage robust backup and recovery strategies.
• Ensure database security by implementing access controls and performing regular security audits.
• Perform capacity planning and proactively manage database growth.
