Job summary

Wenco International Mining Systems is seeking a Data Scientist to analyze and interpret complex data from mining equipment and fleet management systems. You will develop scalable models for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and RUL estimation, and drive data-driven decision making.

Collaborating with ML engineers and mining experts, you will create impactful dashboards, ensure data quality and governance, and communicate insights to stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or similar role in mining or heavy industries preferred.
• Experience with data science frameworks and libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Proficiency in Python or R.

Responsibilities

• Develop and align data science strategy with mining technology goals.
• Oversee multiple data science projects from conception to deployment.
• Analyze large datasets from sensors, equipment logs, and operations data to extract insights.
• Design scalable predictive maintenance models focusing on anomaly detection and RUL estimation.
• Develop predictive and prescriptive models for maintenance and fleet operations.
• Lead time series modeling for high-dimensional sensor data.
• Ensure model transparency and user interpretability.
