The CE&S Business Intelligence Team is responsible for delivering data-driven decision making & self-serve analytics to optimize customer experience and support operations across Microsoft’s support surfaces. We build and manage data platforms, data governance, ML models, and provide analytics resources and guidance.

We seek a goal-driven Senior Data Scientist with experience in developing data-driven solutions and expertise in Machine Learning (ML) and AI technologies. You will collaborate with high-impact data scientists and strategic customers to solve complex problems, working with engineering, product, and program management teams.

This role offers flexibility to work up to 100% from home.

Responsibilities

• Proactively lead technology initiatives and collaborate with teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Develop ML models using classical algorithms and foundation models.
• Leverage Large Language Models and AI technologies to enhance data analysis and insights.
• Apply quantitative analysis, data mining, and data presentation to inform decisions.
• Build relationships with product and business leaders to understand objectives and deliver data-informed solutions.
• Mentor team members and embody our culture and values.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctorate in relevant fields plus 1+ year of data science experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or Bachelor’s with 5+ years, or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading and mentoring data scientists.
• Strong skills in data modeling, statistical techniques, and tools (SQL, R, Python, etc.).
• Experience with ML algorithms for forecasting, clustering, NLP, etc.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to meet security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize complex problems.
• Creative, organized, and self-driven with a growth mindset.
• Effective time management skills.

Salary range in Canada: CAD $108,100 - $199,700 per year. Find more pay info here.
