Role Overview

Data is vital for Coinbase's strategy to optimize financial operations and improve decision-making. In this role, you'll collaborate with Finance, Product, and Engineering teams to support cash flow processes, including payments, bank reconciliations, and asset safeguarding. You will gather financial data from various sources, transform raw data into insights, and develop advanced data models and pipelines to inform analytics on cash flows.

Responsibilities

1. Partner with Product and Engineering teams to support new initiatives and product launches that drive business growth.
2. Define data models, contracts, and support scaling data quality checks and enforcement.
3. Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, and other Finance teams to extract financial data, generate insights, and recommend efficiencies.
4. Design and scope project plans, execute, test, and implement data and reporting solutions as a strategic partner.
5. Develop and maintain data pipelines and models for dashboards and data products with high craftsmanship.
6. Work with Data and Engineering teams to improve system scalability through automation.
7. Create interactive dashboards and visualizations to present financial insights.
8. Partner with stakeholders to define and execute roadmaps for scaling functions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Self-starter with multitasking ability and strong collaboration skills across teams.
• Experience with data processing (ETL), SQL, and scripting languages like Python.
• Proven experience building data pipelines.
• Knowledge of data modeling, architecture, and best practices.
• Experience with Apache Airflow or similar systems.
• Understanding of finance principles, especially within Accounting and Treasury, and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to create documentation and foster team collaboration.
• Demonstrate core cultural values: clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, ownership, and efficient execution.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with financial services data, crypto, Payments, Accounting, or Finance domains.
• Familiarity with BI platforms like Looker or Tableau.
• Ability to manage work prioritization proactively.
• Experience manipulating large structured and unstructured data sets.

Pay Range: $180,370 — $212,200 CAD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
