Job summary

Definity is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to design and deliver innovative data products for Personal Insurance. The role blends analytics, data engineering, and product thinking, with a strong focus on SQL, Python, and cloud platforms.

Based in Waterloo, ON, this contract through December 2027 offers a hybrid work model and collaboration across business partners and delivery teams to drive meaningful insights and capabilities.

Qualifications

• Min 3–5 years of hands-on experience with data discovery, prototyping, and development of analytics products.
• Min 3–5 years’ experience as Data Analyst or equivalent in an Agile product development organization.
• Expert level SQL and Python on cloud platforms is essential.
• Strong knowledge of GenAI, data science, and ML principles.
• Scrum Master / Product Owner experience/certification is an asset.
• Experience with GCP and Databricks is also an asset.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate new data sources and contribute to the design of data products.
• Translate business needs into compelling user stories with clear requirements and specs.
• Support the product backlog and collaborate with teams to deliver data capabilities.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and project planning.
• Ensure data documentation, governance, and data quality across initiatives.
