Job summary

ASICS Apps Canada, operating as Race Roster North America Corporation, is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to build a greenfield data platform from the ground up in Canada. You will partner with the Data Architect to turn a shared vision into an enterprise-grade reality, laying the foundations of code and infrastructure for data ingestion, modeling, and storytelling.

You will own ELT pipelines, data transformations, AI/ML readiness, and BI enablement with Metabase and other modern tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering with business-outcome focus.
• Experience in FinOps and cloud cost management.
• Proven ability to translate data into actionable business insights.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Data Architect to build greenfield data architecture and models.
• Design compute and storage patterns in Snowflake for cost efficiency.
• Build ELT pipelines using Python (e.g., dlt) from AWS RDS and APIs into Snowflake.
• Develop bronze → silver → gold data transformations and expose curated gold layer to BI tools.
• Set up Snowflake features like Snowpipe Streaming and Tasks for observability.
• Support AI/ML initiatives with data pipelines and feature stores.
