Job summary

Publicis Sapient in Toronto is seeking a Senior Associate Data Engineer to lead and deliver large-scale data solutions across cloud platforms, batch and streaming pipelines, and AI-enabled services. You will translate client requirements into scalable data architectures and mentor junior engineers.

You will work with Databricks, Spark, Python, SQL, and modern data lakehouse patterns, collaborating across teams to drive measurable business value and reliable production systems.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing end-to-end data pipelines and production-grade data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with at least one leading public cloud data platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Functions, AKS, and Azure Databricks.
• Strong Python proficiency for data engineering and AI workflows.
• Knowledge of Spark, PySpark, Scala, Java, and shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Combine technical expertise with client collaboration to deliver end-to-end data solutions.
• Translate requirements into system design and provide measurable business value.
• Lead, design, develop and deliver large-scale data systems and data platform modernization.
• Build and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines on cloud platforms.
• Support AI-enabled engineering use cases with scalable data services and data foundations.
• Automate data platform operations and manage post-production observability and reliability.
• Provide project estimates and feasibility assessments.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute hands-on to delivery.
