Base pay range

CA$150,000.00/yr - CA$200,000.00/yr

Location: 100% Remote (Anywhere in Canada)

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in data engineering, working with very large data sets, and a strong background in Azure Data Infrastructure, Python and SQL. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and optimizing data infrastructure and pipelines to support our client's innovative financial tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize complex Python and SQL queries.
• Build and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Develop and manage data models and databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Utilize Azure data infrastructure tools such as Synapse, PowerBI, and ADF, and explore alternative solutions that are accepted industry-wide.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across large data sets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver insights.
• Implement best practices for data security and governance.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with Mixpanel.
• Experience with no-code/low-code self-serve analytical tools
• Familiarity with AWS data infrastructure is a huge plus

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of experience in data engineering.
• Proven expertise in working with very large data sets.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Azure data infrastructure (Synapse, PowerBI, and ADF).
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data pipeline development.
• Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
