Base pay range

CA$80.00/hr - CA$90.00/hr

Duration- 12 Months Contract (Possible Extension)

Responsibilities: Develops and implements the data architecture for application development in a complex and distributed environment, including data flow, database locations, and access methods.

Skills

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Technical Skills 30%:

• Experience creating physical database designs, administering database management systems (DBMS), including optimization, capacity planning, installation, migration, design, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
• Experience with cloud environments, especially Azure.
• Proficiency in Azure SQL Database, T-SQL, SQL maintenance, audit, user and permissions management, performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factories, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Oracle DBMS, Big Data/Data Lake/Hadoop; certifications are a plus.
• Experience with SSIS, SSRS, Talend, Informatica.
• Experience working with NoSQL databases and formats (JSON, XML).

Experience 30%:

• Experience in programming languages, cloud development, microservices architecture, data migrations, query languages.
• Knowledge of database rules, incident, change, and configuration management.
• Experience with communication protocols, distributed data systems, middleware, cybersecurity remediation.
• Understanding of Information Management principles, database design, impact analysis, and technology patching.

Communication Skills (10%):

• Strong documentation and presentation skills; ability to communicate technical designs clearly.

Must Have:

• Experience with physical database design, DBMS administration, especially in Azure.
• Hands-on Azure SQL Database experience, proficiency in T-SQL, database performance, and security management.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Cosmos DB, Oracle, Big Data, Data Lake, Hadoop; certifications are advantageous.
