Job summary

Sun Life is seeking a data analyst to partner with business units, turning requirements into data-driven insights and dashboards. You will work across the organization to optimize reporting, forecast sales, and measure performance through KPIs.

The role emphasizes storytelling with data and rapid learning of new tools. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in data analytics, strong SQL/PySpark skills, and experience with AWS services and Tableau or equivalent visualization tools.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with data analytics including handling, manipulation, hypothesis testing, data modelling and data visualization.
• 5+ years experience with SQL, PySpark and other programming languages.
• Proficient in writing complex SQL queries to extract and integrate data from multiple sources.
• 2+ years with AWS Cloud Services (e.g. Glue, S3, Athena, Quick Suite).
• 2+ years of experience with Tableau or other visualization tools.
• Experience storytelling to share data-driven insights clearly.
• Strong partnering approach and ability to meet business needs.
• Prioritization, planning and change management in fast-paced environments.
• Able to learn new applications quickly and document work.

Responsibilities

• Identify complex business problems with business partners and provide data-driven solutions.
• Analytic work from requirements to presentations to solve business problems.
• Act as SME in prospect, client, and advisor data across Sun Life.
• Support to uncover opportunities driving incremental sales.
• Develop metrics and KPIs to measure performance of analytics initiatives.
• Support annual business plan, monthly sales forecast, and insight analysis.
• Operationalize reporting and synthesize key metrics into dashboards to monitor performance.
• Perform reporting automation and promote analytics-driven decision making.
