The Opportunity

Reporting to the Executive Director, Technical Operations & Asset Management, the Senior Data Analyst, Asset Management plays a critical role in supporting and optimizing our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and broader Asset Management Initiatives. This position is responsible for the administration, implementation, documentation and continuous improvement of data workflows and reporting within the Asset Management System.

The ideal candidate will leverage their analytical, technical and problem-solving skills to enhance data-driven decision-making, optimize operational processes and improve data-quality and accessibility across the organization. They must also bring a well-rounded blend of data stewardship, technical analysis, reporting expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Primary Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining an accurate, comprehensive record of all in-scope asset classes.
  • Supporting the implementation and integration of asset management software across the organization, including data collection, standardization and reporting.
  • Integrating sustainability and energy optimization strategies into asset management system.
  • Performing regular updates and verifications of asset data, ensuring integrity, accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Monitoring and enhancing the history of asset performance, condition and service costs to inform both day-to-day operations and long-term planning.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and execute data analysis plans that support the agency’s overall strategic direction, business and operational goals.
  • Building and maintaining automated data pipelines to integrate, clean and process data from multiple sources.
  • Analyzing asset and energy utilization data to uncover trends, patterns and actionable insights.
  • Creating insightful visualizations, dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform decision-making when assessing program effectiveness.
  • Assisting with the development of capital and operational budgets by completing lifecycle, condition-based and optimization data analysis to guide strategic investment.
  • Supporting the effective use of the CMMS by providing stakeholders with guidance in data standardization, system troubleshooting and change management.
  • Participating in condition assessments, lifecycle forecasts, maintenance planning and other asset-related projects.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of asset management policies, procedures and performance measures through cross-team collaboration and engagement with subject matter experts.
What We Want from You
  • Bachelor’s degree in analytics, business, engineering, facilities management or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in data analysis, asset management or CMMS software are considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data analytics, preferably within asset or facilities management environments.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Robust technical expertise with large datasets and repositories, including data pipeline creation, cleaning and advance analytics.
  • Experience with SQL, database administration and data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and CMMS platforms and workflows an asset.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments with a range of stakeholders, while maintaining a professional demeanor and a commitment to service excellence.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Possesses strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with maintenance, facility, energy, financial or capital planning data is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel and Access skills.
