Job summary

LanceDB is seeking a Senior Customer Success Engineer who will be a trusted advisor to our strategic customers, guiding onboarding, adoption, and expansion of LanceDB across production workloads. You will design, deploy, and optimize deployments in production, lead onboarding and architecture reviews, and serve as a bridge between customers, product, and engineering teams.

The role requires 10+ years in post‑sales technical roles, experience with distributed databases or cloud data platforms,

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technical roles such as post-sales, CS, solutions architecture, or technical support within data infrastructure or distributed systems.
• Experience supporting or deploying distributed database systems or large-scale cloud-native data platforms.
• Proficient in Rust and Python; able to read, debug, and write production-grade code.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimize LanceDB in production environments for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Lead technical onboarding and architecture reviews; guide on system configuration and query optimization.
• Identify adoption barriers and coordinate with product/engineering for timely resolutions.
• Own deployment metrics; build dashboards and monitor health across accounts.
• Develop technical enablement: sample code, automation tools, and documentation.
• Advocate for customers internally; communicate feature requests and influence roadmap.
• Collaborate with sales engineering and support engineering on evaluations and escalations.
• Contribute to internal tooling, runbooks, and playbooks for the CS organization.
• Help shape processes and culture as we scale customer success.
