As a member of the Accounting team, you will take a leading role in delivering timely and accurate management and operational financial reports. Your responsibilities will include recording and analyzing employee-related expenses in the company’s general ledger, along with performing account reconciliations. You will also support the documentation and maintenance of standard processes to ensure they are operating effectively. Drawing on your experience, you will identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to integration project teams. Throughout the year, you may also be involved in various special projects as needed.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare payroll journal entries to record the company expense related to employees into the company GL
• Prepare corporate accruals related to employees into the company GL.
• Analyze month over month and quarter over quarter variances of relevant payroll accounts and prepare commentary for management reporting purposes
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations with an understanding as to the underlying detail.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are up to date, easy to understand and that historical items are cleared in a timely manner.
• Develop close working relationships with cross functional teams.
• Act as SME for Corporate Accounting on integration project teams. Act as a mentor to new team members.
• Complete other special projects and identify areas for improvement as required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s or College degree in Accounting (CPA is preferred)
• 5-8 years of related experience with solid US GAAP/ accounting knowledge
• Strong understanding of payroll processes is an asset.
• Computer literate with high proficiency in MS Office applications – Excel is required.
• Experience in SAP is required
