Job summary

People Placement Group is hiring an Experienced Electrical Controls Engineer in Mississauga to design and implement PLC-based controls, HMI applications, and drive systems for industrial equipment.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial automation, proficiency with Allen-Bradley or Siemens platforms, and strong verbal and written communication skills. On-site work in Peel Region with occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• PE designation preferred and relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on controls.
• 5+ years of related experience in industrial controls.
• Proficiency in AC/DC drive systems, PLCs, and PC-based control software.
• Experience with AutoCAD, PLCs, AC/DC drive systems, and supervisory control systems.
• Strong understanding of industrial control networks.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC programs using ladder logic and other methodologies for equipment and functions.
• Design and create HMI applications.
• Review PLC network architecture.
• Configure AC/DC drive systems.
• Integrate legacy drives, controls, and equipment.
• Assist in the creation of technical product documentation and information.
• Conduct in-house testing of software and systems.
• Provide on-site start-up and commissioning support.
• Offer remote and on-site customer support as needed.
• Assist in pre-study analyses and reports in collaboration with sales teams.
• Communicate with customers as required.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
