Job summary

IQ Resource Group is seeking a Controls Engineer in Neenah, Wisconsin. The role involves designing, programming, and commissioning Rockwell ControlLogix/GuardLogix PLCs, HMIs, and motion controllers for custom equipment. You will lead project activities through startup, FAT/VAT, and on-site support.

The candidate should have 2–5 years of related experience, a technical degree, and proficiency with Word and Excel. Travel up to ~20% may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years designing, programming and implementing Rockwell ControlLogix/GuardLogix PLCs
• Experience with HMIs (Studio 5000 ME; some SE knowledge)
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to Electro-Mechanical Technicians and Electrical Assemblers during equipment build phases
• Develop basic operational and training documentation
• Participate in equipment startup, FAT/VAT, and customer inspections
• Support and/or lead onsite equipment startup at customer facilities

IQ Resource Group is hiring a Controls Engineer in Neenah, WI. This position is Direct Hire!Pay: $80-120k/yearHours: Monday-Friday 8am-3:30pm

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned projects from concept through manufacturing, testing, and startup while meeting customer expectations and project timelines
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to define project scope and manage changes as needed
• Drive project schedules and coordinate with design and construction teams to maintain milestones
• Develop and program PLCs, Servos, and HMIs for custom equipment
• Utilize existing code when applicable while also developing programs from scratch
• Provide direction to Electro-Mechanical Technicians and Electrical Assemblers during equipment build phases
• Develop basic operational and training documentation
• Participate in equipment startup, factory acceptance testing (FAT/VAT), and customer inspections
• Support and/or lead onsite equipment startup at customer facilities

Additional Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials (BOMs) and assist with parts ordering
• Create or modify ACAD Electrical drawings and schematics
• Assist Sales and Applications teams with controls-related project scope
• Support estimating efforts for controls projects
• Participate in research and development initiatives as needed

Qualifications

Required:

• 2–5 years of experience designing, programming, and implementing:
  • Rockwell ControlLogix & GuardLogix PLCs
  • HMIs (Studio 5000 ME with some SE knowledge)
  • Kinetix motion controllers and drives
  • AC & DC drives
• Technical degree
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage changing deadlines
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 15–20% for equipment startup support

Preferred:

• Experience with non-Rockwell software and components
• Basic ACAD or ACAD Electrical experience
• Experience with MDR conveying system software
