Job summary

Based in the Tri-Cities of BC, a small privately held industrial tech and engineering company seeks an Assistant Controller to oversee operating company, properties, and four holding companies. The role is hands-on with leadership responsibilities in a close-knit team.

CPA designation and controller-level experience are required; multi-entity and multi-currency (CAD/USD/EUR) experience is essential. Independent work style with strong judgment and adaptability is valued.

Qualifications

• CPA designation and strong accounting background.
• Hands-on controller-level experience in small to mid-size settings.
• Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency (CAD, USD, EUR).
• Ability to work independently in a standalone finance function.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial operations for operating company, properties and holding companies.
• Manage Canadian tax matters, including income tax and SR&ED, with external firm support.
• Oversee payroll, benefits, HR, recruitment, terminations and performance reviews.
• Manage inventory, production ops, and supervise Office Administrator and Purchaser.
• Oversee facilities management and liaise with strata management.
• Support customer-facing activities including inside sales, RMAs, quotations, and light tech support.
• Provide hands-on operational support in a small-company environment.
