Job summary

JJE seeks an experienced Senior Controller to lead financial accounting and reporting across a multi-location environment in Barrie, Ontario. You will own the close process, ensure US GAAP and SOX compliance, and guide a high-performing accounting team toward accurate, timely financials.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance, you will drive process improvements, partner with senior leaders, and mentor staff. The role offers a hybrid work model with in-office leadership and limited remote days.

Qualifications

• CPA, CA designation is mandatory.
• 5+ years of experience in a senior-level accounting management role.
• Experience in a publicly traded, multi-location company.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and audit requirements.
• Demonstrated SOX compliance and internal controls expertise.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close under US GAAP and company policies.
• Manage journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and close packages.
• Develop and monitor internal controls; drive process improvements.
• Lead audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Provide financial analysis to support senior leadership decisions.
