Qualifications

  • 5+ years of practical experience in the Controls and Automation industry.
  • Degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or Robotics & Automation.
  • Experience in leading commissioning, testing, and debugging of automation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Execution: electrical and fluid power designs, PLC & HMI software development, robot programming, motion control, and commissioning.
  • Project & Client Management: manage client relationships, participate in stand-ups, use Jira for progress and ticket management, ensure documentation.
  • Compliance & Operational Standards: adhere to company policies, stay current with standards, provide support during regular/after-hours as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement & Team Development: promote efficiencies, share knowledge, and maintain technical knowledge through training and events.

Job description

RidgeTech Automation is seeking a dynamic and skilled Control Systems Specialist with 5+ years of experience to join our growing team.

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or Robotics & Automation. A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in the Controls and Automation industry is essential. Experience in performing the following role responsibilities is required:

Technical Leadership & Execution
  • Electrical and Fluid Power Designs (EPLAN, AutoCAD)
  • PLC & HMI Software Development (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Omron, Toyopuc)
  • Robot Programming and Setup (ABB, Fanuc, Motoman, Nachi, Kuka)
  • Motion Control Systems (Rockwell, Siemens, Bosch)
  • Peripheral systems (vision systems, marking systems, weld systems)
  • Lead commissioning, testing, and debugging of automation systems
  • Purchase hardware and materials for projects
Project & Client Management
  • Manage client relationships and project scope
  • Participate in stand-ups, work planning, and technical reviews
  • Utilize Jira for progress updates and ticket management
  • Ensure accurate and complete project documentation
Compliance & Operational Standards
  • Uphold company policies and submit timesheets/service reports accurately
  • Stay current with applicable standards, codes, and rules
  • Support clients during regular hours, after hours, and weekends as required
Continuous Improvement & Team Development
  • Promote efficiencies and continuous improvement
  • Engage in initiatives to share knowledge and support team development
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge through training and industry events
  • Utilize non-chargeable time efficiently through approved activities
