Senior Consultant, Property Tax Services

Join our Property Tax Services team as a Senior Consultant and make an impact. This diverse team delivers customized tax strategies within a complex regulatory environment. As a trusted advisor, you'll monitor market and legislative changes to help clients maximize tax recovery on real estate.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct real estate market studies, property analysis, and valuation conclusions
  • Present evidence at the Assessment Review Board
  • Liaise with municipalities, real estate brokers, developers, landlords, and tenants to gather information for property valuation
  • Execute audit procedures to ensure fair assessments
  • Collect and update client information, including income/expense statements and rent rolls
  • Prepare client reports and valuation reports for boards and municipalities
  • Support the development of proposals, engagement letters, reports, and presentations
  • Collaborate with the client engagement team
  • Maintain flexibility to travel as needed
Skills and Experience
  • Post-secondary education in real property valuation, assessment, real estate, urban studies, economics, finance, or law; equivalent work experience may be considered
  • Ability to learn current assessment legislation and its impact on various property types
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong research skills and knowledge of valuation methodologies and taxation principles
