Make an impact with our Property Tax Services team as a Senior Consultant. This diverse team of professionals delivers customized tax strategies within a complex and dynamic regulatory framework. As a trusted advisor, you'll monitor markets and legislative changes to ensure that clients are utilizing all available programs and incentives to maximize tax recovery potential on real estate.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct real estate market studies, property analysis, and determine valuation conclusions
  2. Present evidence at the Assessment Review Board
  3. Liaise with municipalities, real estate brokers, developers, landlords and tenants to ensure information is collected that will assist in the annual determination of real estate values
  4. Execute audit procedures to ensure clients are fairly assessed
  5. Regularly collect and update client information through the request of income/expense statements and rent rolls
  6. Prepare client reporting and valuation reports to boards and municipalities
  7. Support the design and development of high-quality deliverables including proposals, engagement letters, reports, presentations and other correspondence
  8. Work collaboratively with the client engagement team
  9. Maintain flexibility to travel as necessary

Skills and Experience

  1. Post-secondary education in real property valuation, property assessment, real estate, urban studies, economics, finance, or law. Equivalent work experience may be substituted
  2. Ability to learn the current assessment legislation and impacts to the taxation of various property types, such as commercial, industrial, etc.
  3. Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience
  4. Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
  5. Strong research skills and familiar with standard valuation methodologies and/or taxation principals
