Job summary

BrokerLink is looking for a Senior HR Consultant to join our Calgary team. You will guide managers on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation, while leading strategic change initiatives and talent management across client groups.

You will analyze data, conduct investigations, and collaborate with partners to drive development, retention and organizational effectiveness within a multi-site HR function.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree with a Human Resources specialization.
  • 5+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or Senior Consultant.
  • Ability to influence decision-making across levels of the organization.
  • Experience in multi-site, matrix environments and change initiatives.
  • Knowledge of compensation, policies and employment legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on employee relations, performance management, disability management and policy interpretation.
  • Analyze facts, challenge the status quo and contribute strategically to projects.
  • Participate in national projects and deployment of corporate initiatives.
  • Conduct investigations and assist in conflict management.
  • Collaborate with partners to drive talent management, retention and development.
  • Make salary recommendations based on compensation best practices.
  • Ensure consistent understanding and delivery of HR policies across client groups.
  • Support acquisition and integration within the client group.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior HR Consultant to join BrokerLink in our Calgary location ! This posting will remain open until October 9. Applications received after this date may not be considered.

What you’ll do here
  • Provide guidance and direction to managers and employees on matters pertaining to employee relations, performance management, disability management, the interpretation and application of company policies and employment legislation and change management initiatives.
  • Challenge the status quo by analyzing the facts, asking questions, adding new perspectives, and thinking strategically.
  • Participate in national and/or strategic projects, play a key role in our ongoing transformation and deployment of corporate initiatives and programs.
  • Conduct investigations and assist managers in conflict management and other issues.
  • Work with business partners to identify talent management strategies that drive the retention, development and progression of individuals throughout the company.
  • Make salary recommendation based on compensation best practices.
  • Ensure consistent understanding and delivery of HR policies and programs within the assigned client group.
  • Support the acquisition and integration process within the assigned client group.
What you bring to the table
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree with a Human Resources specialization
  • 5+ years of related experience as a HR Business Partner/Senior Consultant
  • Proven ability to quickly establish and cultivate effective working relationships with business partners at all levels of the organization and influence their decision as necessary
  • A flexible, agile, and resilient approach to working in a dynamic ever-changing work environment
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, strong ability to influence and relational ease with all hierarchical levels.
  • Proven track record of critical and strategic thinking to solve operational and / or complex problems.
  • Ability to evolve in a multi-site, matrix organization and in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong organization, rigor, analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Technical, up-to-date expertise in Human Resources and employment legislation
  • Knowledge in all areas of human resources including talent management, performance management and employee relations, disability management, change management, engagement, compensation, organizational development, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • CHRP and/or CHRL designation in progress is an asset.
