Job summary

CIBC is seeking a Full stack Developer to join the Core Banking and Product Technology group, delivering enterprise-scale solutions for the Insurance portfolio. You will design, develop, and integrate applications that enhance the client experience, guiding the technical design and strategy across back-end systems and cloud services.

The role emphasizes collaboration, mentoring, and adapting to evolving technologies in a dynamic, regulated environment.

Qualifications

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Core Banking and Product Technology group supporting the Insurance portfolio. You’ll be at the heart of CIBC’s digital transformation, successfully delivering complex, enterprise-scale projects involving multiple back-end systems. As a Full stack Developer, you will build, implement and maintain easy, flexible, and personalized solutions that enhance the client experience. You’ll lead the planning and strategy for the technical design, development and integration of these applications.

How You’ll Succeed
  • Design and development - Perform and coordinate complex application programming activities. Design the application’s technical infrastructure using specific databases, programming languages, utilities, and testing approaches. Lead the design and development of cost-effective and innovative solutions.
  • Strategic planning - Develop multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex projects involving backend systems, new technology, and the enhancement of existing applications.
  • Leadership skills - Support and mentor team members by sharing knowledge, collaborating and problem solving.
Who You Are
  • You can demonstrate 5+ years of experience in technical tools such as: Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Angular, MongoDB, AWS ,Restful APIs. It is an asset if you have: Salesforce & MuleSoft development experience, DevOps CI/CD development experience. Cloud development - Azure/AWS/GCP.
  • You have experience delivering technology solutions in the Insurance industry, with an understanding of core insurance workflows and regulated environments, is considered an asset.
