You will assist your clients in remediating those gaps while keeping efficiency at the forefront of mitigating financial reporting risks.

The opportunity

As a Senior, you will be a professional member of our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team. We combine technical accounting skills in IFRS, Canadian and US GAAP, practical experience in financial reporting processes and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, as well as deep sector and regulatory knowledge to deliver world-class service to our clients.

Your key responsibilities

  • Help finance leaders address challenges and ongoing changes facing their business.
  • Partner with clients to achieve their potential in acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs, GAAP conversions, optimization / restructuring, accounting standards policy implementation and convergence.
  • Work with clients to remediate pre-existing material weaknesses or significant deficiencies in their control framework.
  • Create innovative commercial insights for clients and drive improvements in business processes.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Technical accounting experience in IFRS and US GAAP along with multiple years of audit experience at a top accounting firm.
  • Experience auditing clients who comply with NI 52-109 and / or SOX 404 regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of IT general controls and entity level controls.
  • Impeccable client relationship skills.
  • Dedication to teamwork and leadership.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A Canadian CPA designation (or an equivalent international qualification), and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Audit or business experience in the application of accounting standards, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Demonstrate mastery of key concepts related to internal controls over financial reporting.
