What You’ll Be Doing

You will be joining the Enterprise Technology team in CIBC. As the Senior Consultant, DevOps (DevSecOps On-boarding Specialist), you are to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of DevOps methodologies and experience with security practices. The primary responsibility of the Senior Consultant, Application Development will be to assist in the on-boarding process of new teams, providing guidance on best practices and ensuring compliance with security standards. In addition, the role provides comprehensive technical consulting to other IT management and technical teams. The role makes technology selection decisions that are often made in situations where business requirements are not completely defined. In this role, you will work closely with new teams to understand their development and deployment processes. Provide guidance on implementing DevOps methodologies and best practices. Develop and maintain documentation related to on-boarding processes. Work with internal stakeholders to improve the on-boarding process and streamline workflows. Collaborate with the security team to identify and address potential security issues. On-board and maintain Appsec tools such as Fortify, Black Duck, AppScan, and others. Configuring & maintaining a Pentest environment.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Strategic Development & Execution- Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities. Understand the business requirements and translate them into system and application design that is aligned with our technology roadmap. Design and document the technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces and integrations. Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency.

  • Strategy and Roadmap- Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices and pushing forward continuous improvements.

  • Stakeholder Management- Act as the solution lead and interface with the project teams by driving and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through and ensure that the overall design aligns with business requirements as well as architectural directions. Support and mentor junior designers and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 8 - 10 years experience in DevOps or a related field; you bring strong understanding of DevOps methodologies and best practices; Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud; Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and Ansible; Familiar with GitHub, Artifactory, JIRA and Confluence; Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes; Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell. Experience working on Linux/Windows servers; Experience working with DevOps teams to integrate security testing into the development process. It’s an asset if you have knowledge of security practices and compliance standards; Understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation; Experience on-boarding and maintaining Appsec tools such as Fortify, Black Duck, AppScan, and others; Ability to set up and configure test environments for conducting security assessments; Experience with various penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, etc. Knowledge of vulnerability scanning and management tools such as Qualys, OpenVAS, etc.

  • Ability to perform security incident response and remediation tasks. Familiarity with security automation tools and techniques for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of security operations.

  • You’re digitally savvy. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends.

  • You have a degree/diploma: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
