Job summary

Jacob Bros Co is seeking a Buildings Superintendent to lead field staff and subcontractors on institutional, commercial, industrial, and high-end residential projects in British Columbia. You will drive safety, quality, schedule, cost performance and team development from the site.

This role requires seven plus years of supervisory experience on ICI projects, mentoring craft personnel, and strong knowledge of safety, environmental procedures, and project controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years supervisory experience as an ICI superintendent on institutional, commercial, industrial and high-end residential projects
• 3+ years experience as Foreman/Lead Hand/Field Engineer preferred
• Strong understanding of construction industry, cost management, specs and schedules
• Knowledge of safety and environmental procedures and legislation
• Proficient with computers; experience using MS Office and project controls/scheduling software
• Able to work a varied schedule, including night shifts
• Legally entitled to work in Canada

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership through Jacob Bros Safety Program; maintain safety documentation
• Train, supervise and mentor craft personnel
• Supervise on-site construction activities within budget
• Maintain open communication with crews, project team and clients
• Prepare work plans and schedules; determine manpower, material quantities and equipment
• Lead site meetings with craft, trades, project teams and client
• Develop and implement job schedules and three-week look-ahead schedules
• Maintain project administration and documentation
