Job summary

ATCO Frontec in Calgary seeks an experienced Construction Estimator with expertise in quantity surveying, cost planning and bid preparation. You will develop accurate estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, analyze costs, and support competitive proposals across infrastructure and facilities projects.

The role requires five+ years in construction estimating, strong Excel and estimation software skills, and the ability to review drawings and contracts. Hybrid work from Calgary is available.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 5+ years in construction estimating or preconstruction.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs and contracts.
• Strong cost understanding, procurement, and risk awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings for disciplines across infra, facilities and construction.
• Review scope, documents and tender requirements to confirm project scope.
• Prepare conceptual to detailed estimates with cost breakdowns.
• Collaborate with operations and Supply Chain for bid packages.
• Analyze bids, identify gaps and support award recommendations.
• Maintain auditable estimate files with source docs and revisions.
• Support handover and continual improvement of estimating processes.
