Job summary

Gateway Pet Memorial in Canada seeks a Senior Communications & Content Manager to lead messaging, content strategy, and editorial planning across website, PR, social, and internal channels. You’ll translate complex topics into clear communications, craft customer and employee stories, and shape campaigns with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, content marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related communications role.
• Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills.
• Experience developing communication strategies and editorial calendars.
• Experience writing website content, sales collateral, internal communications, public relations materials, and social media content.
• Strong interviewing skills with the ability to uncover stories and translate conversations into compelling content.
• Experience partnering with executives and cross‑functional business leaders.
• Comfortable capturing simple photo and video content using a mobile phone and transforming it into engaging communications.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience using Canva to create or edit branded communication materials.
• Excellent collaboration, relationship-building, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop messaging frameworks that ensure consistency across all communications.
• Translate complex topics into clear, compelling, audience-appropriate communications.
• Interview employees, customers, veterinary partners, executives, and subject matter experts to uncover meaningful stories.
• Develop customer testimonials, employee stories, case studies, executive thought leadership, and success stories.
• Publish company news, leadership communications, HR updates, employee stories, and organizational announcements.
• Own and manage Gateway's intranet and Gateway TV as internal communications channels.
• Partner with the Head of Design to ensure written and visual communications work together.
