JobsMedia.io in Ontario is seeking a Senior Commercial Underwriter to join our growing specialty insurance team on a hybrid basis. You will assess commercial submissions, determine coverage, and support profitable growth while building strong broker relationships across Ontario.

The ideal candidate has several years of commercial underwriting experience, deep knowledge of property and casualty, and the ability to negotiate complex risks.

Qualifications

• Several years of commercial underwriting experience.
• Strong understanding of commercial property and casualty insurance.
• Ability to independently assess and negotiate complex risks.
• Relationship-focused professional with strong communication skills.
• CIP, CRM, or related designation considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate commercial insurance submissions and determine appropriate coverage solutions.
• Analyze risk exposures and pricing opportunities to support profitable growth.
• Handle new business, renewals, and policy changes across a diverse commercial portfolio.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with brokers across Ontario.
• Provide responsive service and technical expertise to help brokers meet client needs.
• Identify opportunities to grow existing relationships and expand business opportunities.
• Contribute to underwriting profitability and portfolio management objectives.
• Stay informed on market conditions and emerging risks.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and share technical knowledge with colleagues.
