Job summary

OXARO Inc. seeks a Senior Cloud Solution Architect in Ottawa, hybrid. The role focuses on leading architecture for a back-office system, coordinating cloud and container efforts, and delivering secure, scalable solutions across multi-cloud environments.

You will govern architecture artifacts, drive SDLC processes, and collaborate with business stakeholders to meet complex operational requirements. This is a 2-year contract with potential extension, requiring Reliability Status clearance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in information technology with 5+ years in enterprise solution architecture.
• Experience delivering cloud-native and container-based solutions on Azure/OpenShift/Azure Kubernetes Service.
• Designs Azure IaaS, networking, security, data protection, and workload portability.
• Proven ability to architect highly available, multi-site, multi-region, multi-cloud environments.
• Expert in ADRs, architecture governance, and SDLC across teams.
• University degree in computer science or related field.

Senior Cloud Solution Architect

Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid)

Duration: 2 years, with an optional 1-year extension

Responsibilities

• Oversee core technology services solution architecture activities for a new back-office system program.
• Coordinate architecture efforts across cloud, container, database, integration, security, and operations teams.
• Develop, maintain, and govern the end-to-end Solution Architecture Document (SAD) and architecture decision records.
• Ensure architecture deliverables remain current, complete, and aligned with program objectives.
• Facilitate architecture reviews, technical assessments, risk identification, and governance activities.
• Support compliance with architectural standards, governance committees, and project approval requirements.
• Ensure solution delivery alignment across Azure, OpenShift, SQL, IBM MQ, networking, security, and observability workstreams.
• Coordinate the resolution of cross-functional technical dependencies, issues, and risks.
• Enable progression through development, testing, deployment, and production milestones.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, platform services, and engineering teams.
• Deliver secure, resilient, scalable, and supportable technology solutions that meet business and operational requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be based in Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Must be eligible to obtain Reliability Status
• 10+ years of experience in information technology, including 5+ years of experience in Solution Architecture supporting complex enterprise technology environments.
• 5+ years of experience architecting and delivering cloud-native and container-based solutions using Azure, Azure Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenShift, and/or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including both server-based and serverless application architectures.
• Experience designing and implementing Azure IaaS infrastructure, networking, security, data protection, and workload portability solutions, with the ability to advise on cloud deployment models and architectural best practices.
• Experience architecting highly available, resilient, and scalable multi-site, multi-region, and multi-cloud solutions, including Azure Availability Zones, Availability Sets, Site Recovery, and Azure Well-Architected Framework principles.
• Experience applying cloud financial management (FinOps) principles, cost optimization strategies, governance practices, and risk management while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and operationally supportable solutions.
• Experience supporting the full system development lifecycle (SDLC) and resolving complex technical risks, issues, and dependencies across architecture, engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations teams.
• Expertise in enterprise solution architecture, including architecture governance, technical assessments, architecture documentation, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
• Knowledge of security, networking, high availability, resiliency, disaster recovery, observability, and cloud infrastructure required to support mission-critical enterprise applications.
• University degree or college diploma in computer science or a related discipline.
