We are Systematix and we are currently seeking a Senior Cloud Solution Architect for an opportunity with a public sector client. The ideal candidate must hold an active Government of Canada Reliability (Level I) security clearance. This is a hybrid role requiring up to 12 days on-site per month, expected to start in October 2026. The initial contract term is 24 months, with the option to extend for an additional 12 months.
About the Responsibilities
- Oversee the Bank’s core technology services solution architecture activities for a new back-office system program ensuring effective coordination across cloud, container, database, integration, security, and operations teams.
- Develop, maintain, and govern the end-to-end Solution Architecture Document (SAD) and architecture decision records ensuring architecture deliverables remain current, complete, and aligned with program objectives.
- Facilitate architecture reviews, technical assessments, risk identification, and governance activities, supporting compliance with architectural standards, governance committees, and project approval requirements.
- Ensure solution delivery alignment across Azure, OpenShift, SQL, IBM MQ, networking, security, and observability workstreams to support successful program outcomes.
- Coordinate the resolution of cross-functional technical dependencies, issues, and risks to enable progression through development, testing, deployment, and production milestones.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, platform services, and engineering teams to deliver secure, resilient, scalable, and supportable technology solutions that meet business and operational requirements.

About the Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology, with at least 5 years of experience in Solution Architecture supporting complex enterprise technology environments
- Minimum of five 5 years of experience architecting and delivering cloud-native and container-based solutions using Azure, Azure Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenShift, and/or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), including both server-based and serverless application architectures.
- Experience designing and implementing Azure IaaS infrastructure, networking, security, data protection, and workload portability solutions, with the ability to advise on cloud deployment models and architectural best practices.
- Experience architecting highly available, resilient, and scalable multi-site, multi-region, and multi-cloud solutions, including the use of Azure Availability Zones, Availability Sets, Site Recovery, and Azure Well-Architected Framework principles.
- Experience applying cloud financial management (FinOps) principles, cost optimization strategies, governance practices, and risk management while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure and operationally supportable solutions.
- Experience supporting the full system development lifecycle (SDLC) and resolving complex technical risks, issues, and dependencies while collaborating across architecture, engineering, security, infrastructure, and operations teams.
- Expertise in enterprise solution architecture, including architecture governance, technical assessments, architecture documentation, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
- Knowledge of security, networking, high availability, resiliency, disaster recovery, observability, and cloud infrastructure required to support mission‑critical enterprise applications.

Pay Disclosure
The average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:
- Junior: 0–5 years of experience – $40-75/hr
- Intermediate: 6–9 years of experience – $60-100/hr
- Senior: 10+ years of experience – $90-150/hr
Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.
