Job summary

Cohere is seeking a Senior Security Operations Engineer to lead security initiatives across cloud environments and incident response. You will harden AWS/GCP/Azure/OCI deployments, drive secure infrastructure with IaC, and integrate SIEM, SOAR, plus monitoring tools. The role emphasizes automation, scalability, and collaboration with engineering teams.

The position is remote-friendly, with a global team and strong focus on reducing risk while enabling product development at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SecOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Security or related security engineering role.
• Hands-on security engineer focused on automating controls and scalable solutions.
• Experience managing cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI) and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and SecOps workflows in cloud environments.
• Experience with languages such as Golang and/or Python.
• Able to navigate ambiguity and collaborate with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to team leadership by articulating security risks.
• Harden cloud-native environments with secure-by-default cloud controls.
• Own and drive secure infrastructure design using IaC modules and reusable code.
• Manage IAM/RBAC and ensure unified access control across environments.
• Deploy, integrate and operationalize security platforms (SIEM, SOAR, monitoring tools).
• Respond to security incidents and harden environments post-incident.
• Gather and analyze security metrics to address cross-team issues.
