Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join our client's security team in Kimberley, BC. You will design, implement, and manage cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring resilient defenses and governance.

You will partner with IT and DevSecOps to embed security into the SDLC, perform risk assessments, respond to incidents, and stay ahead of evolving threats with cutting-edge technologies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of cybersecurity experience with a strong focus on cloud security.
• Proven experience with cloud security best practices across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Hands-on use of security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability management.
• Solid knowledge of IAM, cryptography, and network security; cloud certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cloud security controls for AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and pen tests.
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures across the org.
• Monitor security systems and respond to incidents and threats.

• Monitor security systems and respond effectively to security incidents and threats.

• Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies, and recommend appropriate countermeasures.

Requirements

• Proven experience with cloud security best practices and services across major providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Hands‑on experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and vulnerability management solutions.
• Strong understanding of network security, cryptography, identity and access management (IAM).
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or cloud‑specific security certifications are highly desirable.
