Job summary

Lastwall Networks Inc. in Canada is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, secure, and operate the identity platform's infrastructure.

You will own complex initiatives from design to deployment, implement IaC with AWS CDK and Terraform, and raise reliability and security for high-trust customers. This senior individual contributor role emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring peers, and building observability with CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, and Prometheus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience in cloud-native infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or systems engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• U.S. citizenship or dual U.S./Canadian citizenship, due to the nature of the environments and customers supported by this role.
• Strong experience designing, building, and operating secure, scalable, distributed cloud systems in production.
• Deep experience with infrastructure as code, ideally including AWS CDK and Terraform.
• Working knowledge of EC2, Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized workloads.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, cloud networking, segmentation, access control, and secure system design.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including tools such as GitLab, CodeCommit, or CodeDeploy.
• Strong experience with observability, monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting, including tools such as CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, or Prometheus.
• Experience with relational databases and managed database services, including PostgreSQL, RDS, or Aurora.
• Strong incident response and troubleshooting experience, ideally in high-reliability, critical environments.
• Excellent coding and scripting skills with Node.js, TypeScript, Bash, GraphQL, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Own complex infrastructure initiatives from design through implementation, documentation, deployment, and operational handoff.
• Design and improve secure, scalable, distributed cloud systems to support the identity platform.
• Develop, maintain, and improve infrastructure as code using AWS CDK and Terraform.
• Lead improvements to monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting across distributed systems.
• Apply secure infrastructure practices aligned with FedRAMP, NIST controls, GovCloud deployments, and FIPS 140-2.
• Improve deployment tooling and CI/CD pipelines to support secure, reliable software delivery.
• Play a senior role in incident response, troubleshooting, and operational remediation.
• Provide technical guidance to infrastructure and product engineering peers.
• Evaluate new tools and tradeoffs to balance security, reliability, and delivery speed.
