Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. in Mississauga seeks a Senior Developer with strong Java and Python skills, deep AWS cloud knowledge, and DevOps experience to build automation, pipelines, and cloud-native deployments.

You will develop and maintain applications, design CI/CD pipelines, and support deployment issues across teams in a cloud environment. 8+ years in Java/Python and familiarity with banking/insurance domains are preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of development experience in Java and Python.
• Must have experience in the Insurance, Banking, or Financial Services domain.
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud services and cloud-native architecture.
• Working knowledge of DevOps principles, source control, and release management.
• Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, Harness, BitBucket, or Nexus.
• Exposure to security vulnerability scanning tools such as SNYK, CrowdStrike, and SonarQube.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications and automation solutions using Java and Python.
• Design, create, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application development and deployment.
• Debug pipeline and deployment failures and provide technical support to application teams.
• Develop and support cloud-native solutions using AWS services.
• Apply DevOps principles, source control, and release management practices.
• Work with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, Harness, BitBucket, and Nexus to support software delivery.
• Support security and vulnerability scanning activities using tools such as SNYK, CrowdStrike, and SonarQube.
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, and engineering teams to troubleshoot technical issues and improve deployment processes.
• Support containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes where applicable.
• Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using Terraform.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum practices and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Monitor application and deployment environments and support observability initiatives.
