Job Description

Join us as a Senior Structural Engineer specializing in electrical substations, working under our Energy Transmission & Distribution leadership team. You will leverage your expertise to deliver high-quality engineering, estimation, planning, and quality management services, leading complex projects within the energy sector while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead a project design team, including junior and intermediate staff.
• Design electrical substations for voltages from 60 to 735 kV, including supports and foundations.
• Prepare project documentation such as reports, specifications, proposals, estimates, and design bases.
• Manage design work packages, scope, schedule, and costs for existing and new facilities.
• Deliver signed/sealed engineering documents, ensuring compliance.
• Provide technical support, construction assistance, and field reviews.
• Develop design criteria considering multidisciplinary inputs.
• Lead the design, analysis, and detailing of structures, foundations, and hardware assemblies; review manufacturer shop drawings.
• Mentor junior staff and review designs for compliance.

Additional Responsibilities

• Conduct independent studies, contribute to standards, and enhance team capabilities.
• Develop procedures and controls for planning, scheduling, and technical compliance.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, review project schedules and budgets, and control expenses.
• Lead complex engineering activities, make technical decisions, and ensure project success.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Member of OIQ or eligible for registration.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., Safi, VTS).
• Fluency in French (spoken and written).
