The REMOTE Protection & Controls Substation Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical substations for utility and industrial clients. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of high-voltage substation equipment, industry standards, and project management skills. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure successful project completion.

Responsibilities

As a Protection & Controls Substation Engineer, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:

• Design, analyze, and supervise the installation and operation of high voltage, 15-500 kV substations.
• Conduct and interpret complex calculations related to relay burden, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Develop and implement Protection & Controls strategies to safeguard the integrity and efficiency of our substations.
• Collaborate closely with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the substations.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all work, including designs, calculations, and analysis results.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations to ensure our systems are always at the forefront.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting role, you must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, specifically with high voltage, 15-500 kV substations.
• Proficiency in conducting and interpreting relay burden, voltage drop, and short circuit calculations.
• Solid understanding and experience with Protection & Controls.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
• Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
