Job summary

A leading EPCM firm in Calgary seeks a Civil Structural Design Lead to coordinate civil structural drafting and design activities. The role requires the candidate to have 10+ years of EPCM experience and an Engineering Design and Drafting Diploma. Responsibilities include ensuring project deliverables are met on time, reviewing designs for accuracy, and providing guidance to the design team. Candidates must have strong leadership and coordination skills to manage design personnel effectively.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ of EPCM experience.
• Registered member of ASET.

Responsibilities

• Coordination of Civil Structural drafting and design activities on projects.
• Input on schedules, engineering hour estimates and scope of work documents.
• Monitoring of project deliverables to ensure they are delivered on time and on budget.
• Review of drawings and designs for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
• Provide direction, guidance and training to the design team on standards and procedures.
• Support on preparation of 3D models using CADWorx, Advanced Steel and Civil 3D software.
• Support on preparation of design drawings including structural steel, concrete, piling and foundations.
• Lead internal and external 30/60/90 model reviews.
• Coordination of electronic filing system, folder structure and file management.
• Regular meetings with the Civil Structural Design Supervisor on project allocations.
• Effectively communicate the status of tasks and design changes to the team.
• Support and development of overseas initiatives.
• Develop mutually beneficial relationships with team members.
