Job summary

Ledcor Group in Whitby, Ontario seeks an Assistant Superintendent to manage civil works, coordinate field operations, and keep projects on time and within budget.

You will lead foreman meetings, monitor productivity, and ensure safety and quality across earthworks, utilities, and multi-discipline scopes. A strong background in infrastructure and a commitment to Ledcor’s safety culture are essential.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of construction experience with civil infrastructure projects.
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience as Field Coordinator, Assistant Superintendent, or Superintendent.
• Transit or major infrastructure project experience preferred.
• Strong wet utilities, drainage, and earthworks experience.
• Open cut and trenchless utility installation knowledge.
• Coordinate multiple subcontractors on fast-paced site activities.
• Knowledge of drawings, specs, contracts, schedules, and docs.
• Experience with look-ahead planning, productivity tracking, and reporting.
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality systems; MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee civil construction activities including earthworks and utility installs.
• Support coordination of structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
• Lead daily foreman coordination meetings with crews and subcontractors.
• Monitor productivity, quantities, labor, equipment, and schedule progress.
• Develop three-week look-ahead schedules and resolve workflow constraints.
• Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, and staging to maintain productivity.
• Ensure activities follow drawings, specs, schedules, and methods.
• Promote Ledcor safety culture and compliance with safety requirements.
• Lead safety meetings and assist with FLHAs, JHAs, and work plans.
• Monitor subcontractor performance against quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
• Support Quality Programs, ITPs, and project documentation.
• Maintain records: daily reports, photos, quantity tracking, field changes, productivity metrics.
