Base pay range

Location: Markham, ON (Full-Time, In-Office)

Salary Range: $120k–$150k + Benefits

Travel: Occasional (3–5 trips/yr to Atlantic Canada for project reviews)

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to prepare competitive bids for large-scale heavy civil projects such as highways, dams, foundations, mines, and marine structures. This role is based in their Markham office with occasional travel for site visits and bid reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full estimating process for major heavy civil infrastructure projects.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to define scope and costs.
• Identify risks and opportunities, recommending strategic pricing.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure estimate accuracy.
• Mentor and support junior estimators.
• Participate in site visits and bid review meetings.

Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology.
• 7+ years of estimating experience in civil construction.
• Proficient with Bid2Win or similar estimating software.
• Strong understanding of contracts, cost modeling, and risk assessment.
• Excellent attention to detail, leadership, and communication skills.
