The ideal candidate holds a BEng in Civil Engineering, a Pr Eng registration with ECSA, 8+ years of infrastructure experience, and proven ability to manage large teams, budgets and schedules while delivering sustainable solutions for the Kimberley

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA or eligibility.
• 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience focused on infrastructure.
• Experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects (roads, water, sanitation).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of civil infrastructure projects with adherence to codes and standards.
• Manage project lifecycles from planning to completion, including budgeting and scheduling.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff, providing guidance and oversight.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies and risk assessments.

About the Role

Our client, a distinguished engineering consultancy firm, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer specializing in Infrastructure to join their expanding team. This role is based in Kimberley, Northern Cape , and involves leading the design and project management of significant infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water supply systems, and wastewater management. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of civil engineering principles, extensive project management experience, and a proven ability to lead design teams and deliver projects on time and within budget. This hybrid role allows for a flexible work arrangement, balancing on-site project engagement with remote office work. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Manage project lifecycles from conceptualization through to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Oversee and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and support.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and impact assessments.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Perform quality control checks and site supervision during construction phases.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Stay abreast of new technologies, materials, and methodologies in civil engineering.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA or eligibility for registration.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure design and project management.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, water, sanitation).
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Strong understanding of contract administration and construction methods.
