Your Role

We are seeking a Senior Civil Hydrotechnical Engineer to join our renewable energy team in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, or Newfoundland. The successful candidate will provide civil engineering leadership on water resources and hydropower projects ranging from $10M to $400M. Responsibilities include developing analysis plans, contributing to design activities, and providing engineering leadership to ensure project success. The role requires performing essential duties satisfactorily, with the following minimum qualifications :

• Civil Engineer with a strong hydrotechnical background
• Professional Engineer registration in at least one Canadian jurisdiction
• At least 15 years of consulting engineering experience in a multidisciplinary environment, capable of managing multiple major projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and implementation of water and hydro project execution plans from analysis through to construction and commissioning
• Develop project concepts, assess alternatives, and optimize projects
• Perform power and energy modeling, including cost estimation and project economics
• Design civil works such as dams, roads, embankments, and channels based on hydrotechnical and geotechnical inputs
• Support regulatory approval processes, prepare technical documents, and liaise with agencies
• Contribute to company growth through proposals, client development, and marketing
• Lead and mentor team members, and maintain strong client relationships through business development activities

Additional Information

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and legally entitled to work in Canada. Background checks and professional references are required. The salary range is $130,000 to $190,000, based on experience and qualifications.
