Job summary

TBT Engineering is seeking a senior civil designer with 10+ years of experience to lead site development and municipal infrastructure projects in Ottawa. You will prepare and review drawings, perform design calculations, and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure constructible, code-compliant designs.

You will mentor junior staff, support planning and proposals, and engage with clients and regulators while delivering high-quality civil solutions in a growth-focused firm.

Qualifications

• This role requires a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering and eligibility for registration as a Civil EngineeringTechnologist is an asset.
• 10+ years of relevant civil design experience including site development, municipal infrastructure and transportation.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InRoads and OpenRoads; strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review civil design drawings, plans and technical documentation.
• Conduct design calculations for grading, drainage, roadways and utilities.
• Coordinate design efforts with engineers, PMs and multidisciplinary teams.
• Review survey data, geotechnical info and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior designers and support project planning and scheduling.
• Contribute to proposals, client engagement and business development.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards and company QA/QS systems.
