Affirm is building the next generation of customer identity and authentication. This role is a hands‑on engineering position inside Information Security, focused on designing and shipping core CIAM capabilities that protect customers and support growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with CIAM systems and identity standards.
• Proficiency in Python or Kotlin and API design.
• Experience with cloud-native development and AWS.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate CIAM backend services for registration, authentication, and account lifecycle.
• Implement identity standards like OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM.
• Develop backend APIs in Python and Kotlin for web, mobile, and partners.
• Integrate CIAM platforms with internal systems and data stores.
• Own secure authentication flows, MFA, device binding, and adaptive auth.
• Automate CIAM infrastructure with IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
